SLIP AND FALL
The term "slip and fall" generally refers to situations where a person is injured by slipping, or tripping, and falling due to a dangerous condition. Such falls can happen inside or outside a building, and be caused by any of a number of conditions, including wet floors, snow/ice, poor lighting, structural defects, or hidden hazards. Falls are known to cause catastrophic injuries such as a fractured hip, broken back, fractured ankle or wrist or even a head injury. The difficulty in slip and fall cases is establishing how exactly the slip and fall happened; where exactly the slip and fall occurred; and accordingly; who exactly is responsible for the accident. Insurers have a difficult time accepting responsibility that the place where the slip and fall is alleged to have taken place belongs to their insured. This is why it's important to report your slip and fall accident to Goldfinger Personal Injury Law as soon as possible; in order that our team can conduct the necessary investigations and preserve the evidence necssary to establish your case. In the event you delay; important evidence can get lost or even destroyed. Pictures of the accident scene are very effective at proving hazards in slip and fall cases, and the location of the slip and fall. Pictures displaying snow/ice accumulation; cracks in the road/sidewalk; or even protruding street obstacles can be the evidence which make or break your case. Preserving the footwear which you were wearing at the time of the slip and fall is important as well; because the insurer will likely argue that the accident victim was wearing inappropirate footwear at the time of the slip and fall. Interviewing witnesses, retaining engineers and conducting property searches are also effective tools which Goldfinger Personal Injury Law uses to build your case and ensure that you get the results you deserve. There are very strict limitation periods for slip and fall accidents which occur on municipal property which need to be accounted for; so it's important not to delay. We have extensive experience with claims related to serious injuries as the result of a slip and fall accidents. If you or a family member has been seriously injured in a slip and fall or other accident on someone else's property, you may have a claim.
